Paul Butler – an update on a re-release

Reading Recommendations

I read Paul Butler’s novel, Hero, when it was first published in 2010 and I was the Alberta sales rep for Nimbus Publishing and Vagrant Press. I enjoyed reading this book so much that I “hand-sold” it not only to my bookstore and library customers, but also other reader friends I knew would enjoy it just as much. I was so pleased when Paul announced that this earlier novel was being re-released by the same publisher that I just had to invite him back to Reading Recommendations to tell us about Hero! It probably goes without saying that I highly recommend this book and its author. (Paul was previously featured here in Sept. 2014, and has been a welcome supporter since that time, so much so that I’ve listed him as one of my All-Star Authors.)

Instant Hook Update etc…

Dear HB Clients and Friends,

I would like to thank everyone who entered The Instant Hook Literary Contest (deadline December 2, 2014). — Don’t worry, this isn’t that moment when I tell you the winners have been notified. As it happens, a very large response and the fact that a number of entries were from outside North America (this was a postmark deadline) means that it will be February before I will be contacting the winner(s).

In other news, the 8-unit Online Novel Writing Workshop Series is presently full to capacity. Spaces are expected to open up in late March. Feel free to contact me should you have any questions or should you wish to book a place.

I would like to thank the many readers who have given me feedback on my latest novel,The Good Doctor. I very much appreciate you taking the time and I do try to respond to questions and comments, so if you haven’t heard from me yet, it is on my list.

In the next few months I will be engaged in some readings of my World War I novel, Hero, which has once more become available through Nimbus Publishing (full details to follow).

Keep a look out for my next and more comprehensive post which will include The Instant Hook winner, course updates, and even more items of exciting alumni news already in the creative and contractual pipelines!
